When was the last time you stood next to a living organism that is over 3.5 billion years old? They are the oldest form of life known and are claimed to be responsible for 20% of the earths oxygen. Join us as we walk around the 200m boardwalk giving us access to these intriguing organisms and learning about how the Stromatolites were formed. We then make our way down to the Old Telegraph Station long before the Stromatolites were discovered, Hamelin Pool was an important transport and discovery hub. In 1884 the Telegraph station was built and became an important link in the telegraph line between Perth and Roebourne. Join us as we walk through the museum and relive the relics from the days when the station was fully operational. We then stop past the Hamelin Pool shop where we can sit back, relax and enjoy one of the many delicious meals on the menu followed by an icy cold beverage.
